A sexual harassment scandal has emerged at University of Malakand, resulting in the arrest and suspension of a professor.

Professor Abdul Haseeb from the Pakistan Studies department has been accused of inappropriate behavior.

The law enforcement also confirmed the recovery of numerous videos and images of female students from his possession.

A case was registered at Baizai police station, and the professor is scheduled to appear in court on February 18.

The incident has prompted strong reactions from government officials, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Faisal Karim Kundi.

Kundi condemned the actions, emphasizing that such behavior undermines the progress of women in education and society.

The Governor urged for a thorough and transparent investigation by local authorities, police, and university officials.

KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur took swift action by forming a four-member inquiry committee led by the chief secretary.

Malakand University has confirmed the suspension of the accused professor and stated that he had reportedly attempted to marry the student.

The Anti-Harassment Committee is actively investigating the case, ensuring all evidence is reviewed to uphold a zero-tolerance policy on harassment.

The professor has been formally arrested and transferred to jail as legal proceedings unfold.
