Petrol prices in Pakistan are expected to fall beginning October 16, providing some respite to customers following the recent increase earlier this month. Initial estimates suggest that petrol prices might fall by Rs6.10 per litre, while high speed diesel (HSD) prices could fall by Rs0.97 per liter.

Kerosene and light diesel oil are also likely to be cheaper by Rs2.75 and Rs1.64 per litre, respectively.
The petroleum industry has concluded its pricing evaluation and submitted the results to the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority. OGRA will send its report to the Petroleum Division, and the ultimate decision will be taken in collaboration with the Prime Minister. The new tariffs will take effect on Thursday and will be valid for the following 15 days.
This change follows the federal government’s approval of an increase in fuel prices on October 1. At the time, petrol increased by Rs1.97 per litre, HSD by Rs2.48 per litre, light diesel by Rs1.76 per litre, and kerosene by Rs4.65 per litre.
Experts believe the predicted decrease is due to a decline in worldwide oil prices, which has allowed leeway for downward adjustments in the local market. An official announcement from
