Pakistan Railways has updated the departure schedule for three major trains operating between Lahore and Karachi, advising passengers to review the new timings to avoid any disruption in travel plans.

According to the revised schedule, the Business Express will now depart at 6:30 pm, moving from its earlier time of 4:30 pm. The Karachi Express will leave two hours later than before, now set to depart at 8:00 pm instead of 6:00 pm. Meanwhile, the Shah Hussain Express will now run at 10:15 pm, delayed by over an hour from its previous 9:00 pm slot.

Passengers have been urged to check updated schedules in advance and plan their journeys accordingly.

These changes come amid a broader shift in railway operations following a recent increase in fuel prices. Earlier this month, Pakistan Railways raised fares for passenger and freight trains by two percent due to the rising cost of high-speed diesel (HSD).

The price of HSD surged by Rs11.37 per litre, reaching Rs284.35 in the second half of July. This increase has led to an added daily burden of Rs4 million on the railway department, which consumes approximately 350,000 litres of diesel daily.
