In a push towards smarter commuting, the Punjab government has announced the replacement of physical tokens with the T-Card, a unified travel card for Metrobus and Orange Line users.

The T-Card is designed to offer cashless, convenient access across both services, allowing smoother and faster boarding. The change comes under the province’s wider digital strategy aimed at upgrading public services.

Passengers will no longer need separate tokens or cards. Instead, the T-Card can be used for multiple mass transit systems, helping simplify daily commutes in Lahore and other cities.

To make the shift easier, commuters can get the card through the official website, a mobile app, or by calling the 1762 helpline. These options are meant to ensure wide access and easy application.

Transport department officials confirmed that the older systems will be removed in phases, once the new cards are fully introduced and commuters are familiar with the process.
