Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced that electric bus services will soon expand to Rajanpur, Layyah, Muzaffargarh, and Taunsa, following the launch of 101 electro buses in Dera Ghazi Khan. She said the initiative aims to ensure every district in South Punjab has access to modern transport facilities.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, she described the project as a gift for citizens, especially women, students, and people with disabilities, and stressed that Punjab’s resources would be used to uplift its people. She also assured that South Punjab would not be neglected in development.
Maryam Nawaz urged the public to value the new buses as public property, highlighting that their success depends on collective responsibility to safeguard and maintain them for long-term benefit. The expansion of the electro bus service is also expected to reduce travel costs and promote eco friendly transport in South Punjab.

Officials noted that the shift to electric vehicles will help cut fuel expenses, lower carbon emissions, and provide a more comfortable travel experience for daily commuters.
