In the past, teachers with BS degrees were left out of the seniority list, while only those with MA or MSc degrees were promoted. The new notification confirms that the policy will now apply to all institutions under the department.
Reports say that BS degree holders will also be included in the upcoming Departmental Promotion Committee meeting, where promotions will be decided according to the revised rules.
This move is expected to benefit more than 16,000 teachers across Punjab.
