The Ministry of Energy has said electricity restoration is advancing across flood-hit regions, with hundreds of feeders gradually reconnected. In its Thursday morning report, the Power Division noted that staff from distribution companies are working under emergency arrangements to bring services back online.

Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) confirmed that 30 feeders were impacted, mostly in Chiniot, Jhang, and Sargodha. Temporary restoration has been completed, with full recovery anticipated later the same evening.

In Gujranwala, Gepco’s grid system faced severe disruption, with seven stations and 54 feeders damaged. Restoration teams have fully revived 42 feeders and partially restored two more. Sialkot and Narowal have already seen near-complete recovery, while Wazirabad and Hafizabad are still in progress.

Lesco said its region faced 17 affected feeders, with partial restoration achieved in Lahore, Kasur, and Okara. Work is ongoing but depends on water levels receding.

Mepco’s southern Punjab network has been badly affected, with 50 feeders in districts such as Pakpattan, Bahawalnagar, Vehari, and Rahim Yar Khan still down. Officials confirmed that recovery efforts will begin immediately after conditions improve.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pesco reported 12 grid stations and 91 feeders out of service at the peak of flooding. To date, 71 feeders are fully back and 19 partially functional. Areas like Swat, Buner, and Shangla have seen significant recovery, though Dera Ismail Khan may take up to a week for full repairs.

The Tribal Electric Supply Company (Tesco) also reported that two feeders in North Waziristan were reconnected, ensuring supply to local communities.

The Power Division reassured citizens that round-the-clock efforts are underway and vowed to achieve full restoration as quickly as safety conditions allow.
