The Prime Minister’s Youth Programme is offering new opportunities for young people in Pakistan. Focal person Syed Zeeshan Ali Naqvi said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is personally supervising the programme since most of the country’s population is youth. He shared that loans between Rs300,000 and Rs600,000 are available to help young people start their own businesses.

He added that those seeking jobs abroad can get loans up to Rs1 million to cover visa and travel costs. A total of Rs75 billion has been set aside this year for this purpose, while more than Rs186 billion has already been given in the past. Millions of young Pakistanis have found work through this scheme, and the Digital Youth Hub is connecting them with jobs and training opportunities.

Naqvi also said that the laptop scheme has been restarted, with 100,000 laptops to be distributed by October. He noted that university grants and scholarships have also been restored and that more money will be given to education in the next budget. Athletes like javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem are also receiving support, while traditional sports are being promoted.

Pakistan has also secured leadership roles in international youth organisations, which will help in cooperation with many countries. Naqvi announced that a youth festival will soon be held to provide training, startup chances, and global skills. He said the government’s vision is clear: the state will provide skills, capital, and opportunities, but the youth must take the next steps.
