Pakistan International Airlines has temporarily suspended its flight operations to Canada this month due to mandatory maintenance of its long-range Boeing 777 aircraft. These planes, which can fly nonstop across the Atlantic for up to 17 hours, are set to undergo a three-week technical inspection and replacement of parts required every 10 years.

The airline said the maintenance is being carried out now to ensure the aircraft are fully prepared for the expected passenger rush in the coming month. Both planes will be grounded during this period until the process is complete.

The decision comes shortly after PIA had announced a limited-time promotional offer on its Pakistan–Canada routes. The airline has assured passengers that their safety and the airworthiness of its fleet remain the top priorities.

A PIA spokesperson apologized for the inconvenience caused to travelers and emphasized that the suspension is only temporary until the aircraft are cleared for operations again.
