On Monday, an earthquake with a Richter rating of 4.4 rocked Swat and its surrounding districts, prompting inhabitants to fear. People raced out of their houses and stores, seeking refuge in open places as earthquakes shook the region.

According to the Seismological Centre, the earthquake had a depth of 47 kilometers and its epicentre was near Mingora city in the mountainous region. The earthquakes were brief, but powerful enough to cause alarm among locals.
So yet, there have been no injuries or substantial property damage recorded. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and have asked locals to be calm and take safety precautions in case of aftershocks.
