In a resolute statement, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to maintain “law enforcement actions” against a wide range of illegal activities. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has conveyed the army chief’s unwavering dedication to pursuing these actions with full force.

General Munir made this assurance while participating in the Provincial Apex Committee meeting in Lahore, accompanied by Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Raza Naqvi. The meeting served as a platform for discussing various aspects of the security situation in the region, with a specific focus on law enforcement activities targeting issues such as electricity and gas theft, hoarding, foreign currency smuggling, and the safeguarding of minority rights. Additionally, the progress of operations in the riverine area of Kacha and the repatriation of illegal foreign nationals were reviewed.

The ISPR reported General Munir’s commitment to addressing these challenges, stating, “Law enforcement actions against the spectrum of illegal activities will continue with full force in collaboration with the law enforcing agencies and the concerned government departments to rid Pakistan from the substantial economic losses it continues to suffer due to pilferage done by different methods.”

Furthermore, the meeting touched upon topics like the Special Investment Facilitation Council and the Green Punjab initiatives, highlighting the importance of coordinated efforts among relevant departments to maximize the benefits of these landmark initiatives.

The Provincial Apex Committee meeting emphasized the unity of state institutions, government departments, and the people in their collective pursuit of progress and prosperity for the province.

General Munir’s visit to Lahore followed a similar meeting in KP, where he participated in discussions on the security situation, and initiatives against smuggling, hoarding, and drug trafficking. The committee reiterated the commitment of both the state and the people to safeguard the lives and property of citizens, paying homage to the sacrifices made by martyrs and their families.
