Social media claims suggesting that the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has removed the phrase “Husool-e-Rizq-e-Halal Aeen Ibadat Hai” from new currency notes have been declared false.

The inscription, which translates to “Earning a lawful livelihood is an act of worship,” continues to appear on Pakistani banknotes as part of their security features. SBP officials confirmed that the line has not been dropped from the latest notes in circulation.

Rumors spread rapidly across Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, with some users alleging that the removal blurred the distinction between halal and haram income. The speculation prompted criticism and questions over who was responsible for the supposed change.

An SBP official, speaking to Geo News, clarified that the bank’s website clearly lists the phrase among the security features of currency notes ranging from Rs10 to Rs5,000. The official stressed that the inscription remains intact on all new notes.
