The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has urged citizens to update their marital status in its records once a computerized marriage certificate is issued by the Union Council. This move is aimed at ensuring accurate family data in the national registry.
NADRA officials stated that keeping marital records up to date helps avoid difficulties in obtaining essential documents such as B-Forms and Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) for children. It also guarantees that official documents, including passports, reflect the correct marital status.
The authority added that accurate marital information is also crucial for the issuance of legal documents like the Family Registration Certificate (FRC) and the Succession Certificate. These documents are frequently needed for matters involving inheritance, guardianship, and other legal affairs.

To facilitate the process, NADRA offers multiple options for updating marital records. Citizens can either visit their nearest NADRA registration center or make use of the Pak-ID mobile application, which allows users to update their information from home.
Officials emphasized that this small step can prevent larger administrative problems in the future, especially when it comes to proving family relationships and resolving legal matters.
