Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced a special flood relief package for affected families. She said heirs of those who lost their lives and homeowners with complete property loss would receive Rs1 million each, while those with partial damage would get Rs500,000. Families losing livestock will also be compensated.

Maryam also revealed long-term projects, including a permanent embankment in Jalalpur Pirwala and the Gillani Expressway for Uch Sharif. She assured victims that the government would not leave anyone without support.
To ensure a coordinated response, she formed a 14-member committee led by Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, tasked with designing a relief and rehabilitation strategy within one week.

The committee will assess damages to homes, crops, and infrastructure, prepare funding requirements, and create digital maps of flood zones to guide future protections. Officials said the final plan will set clear timelines and recovery goals to ensure swift rehabilitation of flood-hit communities.
