Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced a special flood relief package for affected families. Maryam also revealed long-term projects, including a permanent embankment in Jalalpur Pirwala and the Gillani Expressway for Uch Sharif. She assured victims that the government would not leave anyone without support.

To ensure a coordinated response, she formed a 14-member committee led by Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, tasked with designing a relief and rehabilitation strategy within one week.

The committee will assess damages to homes, crops, and infrastructure, prepare funding requirements, and create digital maps of flood zones to guide future protections.
