In a significant move to combat Lahore’s worsening air quality, the Punjab government is preparing to launch Pakistan’s first fleet of AI-powered dust suppression vehicles.

According to the Environment Department, testing has been completed and 15 vehicles are ready to be deployed across Lahore’s most polluted zones this month.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is expected to formally inaugurate the smart fleet in the coming weeks.

These state-of-the-art vehicles are fitted with artificial intelligence and satellite systems, allowing them to monitor pollution levels and respond in real time.

The anti-smog machines can spray water up to 120 meters into the air to settle airborne dust particles — a major contributor to smog.
