Floods Damage 3,775 Villages in Punjab: PDMA

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has reported that recent floods have devastated Punjab, destroying 3,775 villages across 27 districts. According to the most recent data, Narowal, Sialkot, and Jhang were among the most damaged places, with 428, 377, and 322 villages, respectively.

Authorities indicated that a full damage survey is ongoing and should be finished within a month. The PDMA has also built a victim assistance system to ensure that relief and compensation reach those who need it the most.

To expedite aid, the Bank of Punjab (BoP) will establish facilities in impacted regions to disburse monies directly to victims. Meanwhile, the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) will gather and disseminate damage data via mobile platforms, enabling faster and more transparent updates.

The Punjab Land Record Authority (PLRA) would coordinate with the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) to verify flood damages. Local tehsil committees will finish damage estimates, while a separate committee will address complaints to guarantee equitable distribution of help.
