A video of former Punjab Chief Minister Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo offering funeral prayers while seated in his Land Cruiser has gone viral on social media, sparking public outrage.

The footage, reportedly from Okara, shows Wattoo’s vehicle parked prominently in the middle of the first row of worshippers during his friend’s funeral. While others formed prayer lines on foot, Wattoo remained seated inside his air-conditioned car — a move many criticized as disrespectful and un-Islamic.
Social media users quickly reacted. One user, Amjad Hameed Chauhan, wrote on X, “Only in Pakistan — a former CM prays from inside his SUV in the front row, all because it’s too hot outside.”

Another user sarcastically remarked that Wattoo’s car must have earned spiritual rewards for the gesture, mocking the elitism on display.
Religious scholars and members of the public have condemned the incident, calling it a violation of Islamic protocol and an example of VIP culture overshadowing religious humility.
As of now, Manzoor Wattoo has not publicly responded to the backlash.
