In a groundbreaking move to enhance women’s safety and empowerment, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz unveiled the innovative ‘Never Again’ women’s safety App at a special ceremony marking International Women’s Day. This initiative aims to revolutionize safety measures for women across the region, reflecting a significant step towards gender equality and protection.

With a vision to empower women economically, socially, and professionally, Maryam Nawaz announced a substantial increase in job opportunities for women by raising the job quota in the Punjab Public Service Commission from 10 percent to 15 percent. This strategic decision is set to create more avenues for women’s participation in public service roles, fostering inclusivity and diversity within government institutions.

Moreover, recognizing the importance of supporting working mothers, the Chief Minister allocated a generous fund of one billion rupees towards establishing Day Care Centers at workplaces. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to facilitating working women and promoting a conducive environment for balancing professional responsibilities with childcare needs.

In a bid to further bolster women’s economic independence, Maryam Nawaz revealed plans for constructing working women hostels, providing safe and affordable accommodation options for female professionals. Additionally, she announced a progressive policy offering fifty percent loans to women venturing into online businesses, aiming to boost entrepreneurship among women and bridge gender disparities in economic opportunities.

Furthermore, emphasizing equitable property rights for women, the Chief Minister declared that transfer fees would be waived on gifting property to sisters and daughters. This move reflects a pivotal shift towards empowering women with financial assets and securing their inheritance rights within families.

As part of her comprehensive agenda for gender equality and empowerment, Maryam Nawaz highlighted the pivotal role of the Board of Revenue in facilitating property transfers to inheritor families while ensuring fair shares for daughters. These initiatives collectively signify a transformative approach towards fostering a more inclusive and supportive environment for women in Punjab.
