The Sindh government has announced a new super tax on large-scale agricultural income under the recently approved Sindh Agricultural Income Tax Act 2025, the Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) confirmed.

Effective from January 1, 2025, the tax will be collected annually and will only apply to agricultural income exceeding Rs. 150 million per year. Those earning below this threshold will not be affected.

According to the SRB, the super tax rates will rise progressively with income. Individuals earning between Rs. 150 million and Rs. 200 million annually will pay a 1% tax, while those with earnings above Rs. 500 million will face a 10% levy.

Other tax brackets include 2% for income up to Rs. 250 million, 3% for Rs. 300 million, 4% for Rs. 350 million, 6% for Rs. 400 million, and 8% for up to Rs. 500 million.

The provincial revenue body explained that the policy aims to bring wealthier agricultural producers into the tax net, promoting fairness and contributing to Sindh’s financial resources.

Officials said this move is part of wider efforts to reform the province’s tax system and ensure equitable contributions from all high-income sectors.
