Renowned Pakistani actor Javed Sheikh’s recent claims about his first interactions with Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi during the filming of Jannat (2008) have sparked a debate.
Javed Sheikh’s Statement
While speaking on a private TV program, Javed Sheikh recalled his experience working with Emraan Hashmi during the filming of Jannat, produced by Mahesh Bhatt. Sheikh mentioned that at the time he was introduced to the film’s story, he had not yet met Hashmi.
According to Sheikh, when the director requested a rehearsal, he was informed that Hashmi was already present. However, Sheikh refused to go to him and instead asked the director to call Hashmi over. He added that during the entire filming process, he never spoke to or even looked at Hashmi.

Emraan Hashmi’s Reaction
Responding to these claims on his 46th birthday while speaking to Indian media, Emraan Hashmi said, “I don’t remember my first meeting with him because it was a long time ago, but I do remember that Javed Sheikh and I always had a pleasant relationship.”
Calling the statement “strange,” Hashmi added, “I was 20 years old at the time, and he was much older than me, so we could never become friends. But I don’t recall anything about what he is saying. I don’t know what Javed Sheikh took back with him.”
As the statements from both actors circulate online, the matter has sparked discussions among fans and the media, bringing attention to a long-forgotten professional interaction.
