Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan has finally clinched his first National Film Award, ending a 33-year wait in his illustrious career.
At the 71st National Film Awards ceremony held in New Delhi, President Droupadi Murmu presented the honor. Khan was awarded Best Actor for his powerful performance in Jawan (2023), a milestone moment for the “King of Bollywood.”

The Best Actor award was jointly presented to Vikrant Massey for his acclaimed role in 12th Fail. Shah Rukh Khan, who began his silver screen journey with Deewana in 1992, has been celebrated worldwide for landmark films such as Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Chak De! India, and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Despite his global stature and countless awards, the National Film Award had eluded him—until now.
