Rajab Butt Issues Emotional Apology from Makkah Amid Blasphemy Case

In Masjid-e-Haram, Butt recorded a video clarifying his statements and seeking forgiveness.

Youtuber Rajab Butt , who is currently facing legal action under Pakistan’s blasphemy and cybercrime laws, has issued a public apology while performing Umrah in Makkah.

As per more details, a youtuber standing inside Masjid-e-Haram, recorded a video seeking forgiveness and clarifying his stance. The controversy began after Rajab Butt perfume launched brand named “295,” referencing Section 295 of Pakistan’s Blasphemy Law.

The product sparked outrage, with many accusing him of mocking religious laws. As a result, Butt now faces an FIR under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) and Section 295-A of the Pakistan Penal Code, which deals with the deliberate insult of religious beliefs.

In a video posted on his Instagram account, Butt recited the Darood Sharif and the Islamic declaration of faith, pledging his devotion to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He stated, “My wealth, life, parents, children, and every drop of my blood are dedicated to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).”

He further addressed the allegations, swearing on the sacred site that he had no intention to commit wrongdoing. He urged his followers to “cleanse their hearts” toward him, emphasizing that his actions were not meant to offend religious sentiments.

Butt also appealed to religious scholars, the Punjab government, and the Pakistan Army, urging them to reconsider the charges against him and ensure justice. He defended himself by claiming that his remarks regarding Section 295 were taken out of context due to video editing, where the word “false” was allegedly removed, which led to a fatwa being issued against him.

His recent promotion of the “295” perfume intensified tensions, prompting TLP leader Haider Ali Shah Gillani to file an FIR against him for hate speech and insulting religious sentiments.

If convicted, Butt could face up to 10 years in prison under Pakistan’s blasphemy and cybercrime laws. In his apology, he announced the discontinuation of the perfume, stating, “I deeply regret my words and apologize for any offense caused during the launch of the perfume.”
