Superstar Mahira Khan and acclaimed actor Humayun Saeed are in full swing with the promotions of their upcoming romantic comedy Love Guru, which is set to hit cinemas worldwide, including in Pakistan, on June 6.
Following a well-received trailer and a string of popular songs, the promotional campaign has taken the stars across the US, UK, UAE, and now Pakistan, where they’ve been engaging with fans and the media to build momentum ahead of the film’s release.
During a recent promotional event, Mahira Khan captured attention with a heartfelt prayer for the film’s success. Speaking to attendees, she said, “May Love Guru earn more than 100 crores.” She then turned to the audience and added, “Everyone say Ameen… Now we will pray collectively for the film and everyone will say Insha Allah.”
The moment, which was captured on video, quickly went viral on social media, sparking a mixture of admiration and criticism. While many fans appreciated her candid optimism and confidence in the film, others questioned the intention of offering a prayer for box office earnings instead of more pressing social causes.
Veteran actor Humayun Saeed, who stars alongside Mahira in the film, also took the opportunity to praise director Nadeem Baig, saying, “He is the best director in the country… He takes full money from me, but he is the best.”
