Kim Kardashian Will Take the Stand in USD 6.8 Million Paris Robbery Trial

Kim Kardashian will testify in Paris on May 13 in the ongoing trial of six men accused of robbing her at gunpoint in 2016.

Kim Kardashian is trading reality TV for a real courtroom as she’s set to testify in person at the upcoming trial in France over the now-infamous 2016 Paris jewellery heist.

Her U.S. lawyer, Michael Rhodes, confirmed Monday that the media mogul will appear in court on May 13, during a trial running from April 28 to May 23. Six suspects are on trial for what’s been described as France’s biggest individual-target robbery in two decades.

Flashback to Paris Fashion Week, October 2016—Kardashian, then 36, was staying at a luxury private residence when masked men posing as police officers stormed in. They tied her up, gagged her, and held her at gunpoint before making off with jewels worth nearly $6.8 million, including an 18.88-carat diamond ring gifted by then-husband Kanye West.

“He spoke English with a strong French accent and told me to give him the ring,” Kim recalled in her original statement to French detectives.

The gang moved swiftly—some guarded the hotel, one manned the getaway vehicle, and the others raided her suite. It was a heist straight out of a movie, except this time the celebrity was the victim.

Among the suspects is Aomar Ait Khedache, dubbed “Old Omar”, believed to be the mastermind. The suspects were arrested four months later across Paris and southern France. A special French jury will try the case due to the severity of the charges: armed robbery, kidnapping, and gang-related activity.

While some stolen pieces—like a €30,000 diamond cross dropped during the escape—were recovered, most of the haul vanished, presumed to have been sold in Belgium’s black market.

This will be Kim Kardashian’s first in-person appearance related to the case since the traumatic incident.

So mark the date: May 13. Because while the diamonds might be gone, the courtroom drama is just beginning—and the world will be watching.
