  • Bollywood projects featuring Pakistani stars now suspended.

In a move that has stirred fresh controversy, the Indian government has blocked the Instagram accounts of several high-profile Pakistani celebrities including Hania Aamir, Mahira Khan, Ali Zafar, Sanam Saeed, Bilal Abbas, Iqra Aziz, Imran Abbas, and Sajal Aly.

Indian users attempting to view these profiles are greeted with the message:

“Account not available in India. This is because we complied with a legal request to restrict this content.”

Interestingly, Instagram accounts of some Pakistani celebrities like Fawad Khan and Wahaj Ali remain accessible in India—for now.

This action comes in the wake of a deadly April 22 attack in Pahalgam, Indian-occupied Kashmir, where 26 tourists lost their lives. Although no concrete evidence has surfaced, India has blamed Pakistan for the incident, resulting in renewed cultural and digital restrictions.
