Hania Aamir May Be Replaced in ‘Sardaar Ji 3’

Pakistani actress Hania Aamir is reportedly being dropped from the upcoming Punjabi film Sardaar Ji 3 following backlash linked to the recent attack in Pahalgam, located in Indian-administered Kashmir. The film, featuring Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa, is set to hit cinemas on June 27, 2025.

According to industry insiders, the decision to remove Hania has created production challenges, as her scenes were already completed. The move comes amid rising political tensions and growing scrutiny of artists working across the India-Pakistan border.

In response to the controversy, Hania condemned the Pahalgam incident in a public statement, attempting to distance herself from the fallout. Despite this, reactions remained mixed, with strong criticism emerging from social media users in Pakistan. Many accused her of prioritising personal ambition over national pride by engaging in Indian film projects.

Critics also highlighted her Bollywood-themed Instagram posts, suggesting a lack of national sensitivity. Some accused the actress of using patriotism only when convenient, while others claimed her actions undermined Pakistan’s dignity. One viral comment claimed she had “embarrassed the nation for Bollywood.”

The Sardaar Ji franchise, known for its loyal Punjabi fan base, may feel the effects of this last-minute casting shake-up. Producers have yet to officially confirm the change.

The situation underlines the challenges faced by cross-border artists who often find themselves caught between creative opportunity and political sensitivities. As regional tensions flare, actors like Hania Aamir remain vulnerable to both public backlash and shifting industry decisions.

No formal statement has yet been released by Hania or the film’s producers regarding her reported removal.
