Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif introduces electric buses in Punjab, promoting eco-friendly transport with affordable fares and modern facilities for the public.
Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has introduced electric buses in Lahore, Pakistan, to facilitate people.
In her speech, Chief Minister of Punjab, Pakistan, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, said that when Pakistani people, especially poor people, get relief, then she and her father, ex-Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif, feel very happy.
She praised Minister of Transport Bilal for his hard work on this project of electric buses. She also praised the predecessor of Minister of Transport, Doctor Qazi, for his contribution. She also mentioned that she has inaugurated a fleet of 27 buses, and further, a fleet of 500 buses will be in Pakistan Punjab in August.
She said that these buses will be completely environmentally friendly; these buses have zero emissions, they are 100 percent electric, these buses can be charged in 3 hours, and they can be on the route for the next complete day.
Also, she mentioned that the chief minister’s green initiative electro card will be given to all the passengers so that they can swipe this card and can easily travel. On these buses, she also mentioned that these buses are completely free for students, senior citizens, and differently abled individuals, and for other people, the ticket or charges are 20 rupees only.
She also shared that when she travelled on this bus, she talked with ladies, in which there were many students, and working women were also travelling. She said when she asked them about their experiences, then they said they were using public transport daily, in which metro buses and speedo buses are included.
One student said they cost 3000 PKR per month to her, and she said these 3000 PKR are also difficult for her to pay. The chief minister said, I felt very happy to realise that now she has to pay 20 PKR only.
She said these buses have zero carbon emissions and a minimum fare of 20 rupees. She said that with this fleet of 27 buses, 17000 travellers will be facilitated by it. These buses are not only environmentally and pocket-friendly.
In fact, these buses have the latest facilities, such as free Wi-Fi, mobile charging, and CCTV monitoring for harassment issues with ladies. Also, there is an automatic ramp for differently abled people so that they can enter the bus easily with their wheelchair.
She also shared that because of the hot weather in Pakistan, she has instructed the minister of transport to install mist fans and electric water coolers there. Also to facilitate women financially she has installed small chaos on every bus stop in which there will be cold drinks, snacks and other eatables will be available so that the people on bus stop can eat from their and for ladies it will be job creation for them as well.
She also shared that she is trying to complete her initiative of giving 100 electric bikes to students free annually. For this, she has discussed with many Chinese companies to bid and make an assembly unit in Pakistan.
Also, she said she is introducing charging stations as a facility in many points for people to charge their bikes, especially in schools, colleges, universities, and companies to save people time.
And she is also introducing another system, likewise Uber, in which you call the person, he will reach your location in a truck and take your battery for charging, and give you another charged battery on the spot to save time.
I think so. Maryam Nawaz has understood that she will go in the next election with performance. This nomenclature that she is the daughter of the ex-prime minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif, is not enough, and if I am right and she has genuinely understood that, then we can easily understand why she is doing all these things in Punjab, Pakistan.
27 buses on route 500 will come to Pakistan in August, and she will give 1 lakh electric bikes to students. All the things she has done so far are on the surface; they are not hidden. These things are building a reputation of chief minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz that she is reaching deserving people on grass root level and they are getting facilitate and getting benefits.
Likewise, the Ramzan package is coming from the chief minister of Pakistan, in which thirty-nine lakh families will benefit from it. They will get five thousand rupees, and this will cost 20 billion and 50 crore rupees (20,500,000,000). So, this expenditure on people, the benefits people are getting from it, obviously this will be shown.
This is something the last government did not understand: that if you serve people, they will never disown you. One thing is one model was made by ex-chief minister Mohsin Naqvi and one is made by chief minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz in one year if this type of models will be made in future, then definitely people will get relief from it.
Now we have to this tradition of progress made by Maryam Nawaz will other province also get inspired by this and no doubt Chief Minister Punjab Pakistan Maryam Nawaz sharif is trying her best for progress of Punjab Pakistan.
