Currency Market Stays Cautious Amid Global Uncertainty

The Pakistani rupee experienced minor fluctuations in the open market on Friday, as global economic developments continued to influence foreign exchange trends.

According to currency dealers, the US Dollar traded slightly higher, with the buying rate recorded at Rs282.55 and the selling rate at Rs284.25.

The British Pound remained strong, trading at Rs379 for buying and Rs382.5 for selling. Meanwhile, the Euro hovered around Rs320.05 and Rs322.8, respectively.

Among Gulf currencies, the Kuwaiti Dinar stood at Rs916.2, making it the most valuable, followed by the Bahraini Dinar at Rs752.26 and the Omani Riyal at Rs736.3.

The Saudi Riyal and UAE Dirham were trading at Rs75.2 and Rs76.9, respectively.

Other major currencies also saw slight shifts. The Canadian Dollar was available at Rs209.5, while the Australian Dollar traded at Rs187.

The Singapore Dollar remained relatively firm, selling at Rs220.5. The Swiss Franc held a strong position at Rs338.35.

Market watchers noted that these minor variations reflect cautious investor sentiment due to global inflation concerns and shifting interest rates.
