The return of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has ignited discussions between the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) to explore potential collaborations. As the country gears up for elections, these political parties are actively seeking opportunities to strengthen their positions and influence.

MQM-P Convener, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, made a notable announcement on Monday, revealing that his party’s delegation is in the process of scheduling meetings with Nawaz Sharif and PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif in the near future. The initiation of formal contact between Dr. Siddiqui and Shehbaz Sharif coincided with Nawaz Sharif’s return to the Pakistani political scene. These discussions signify the parties’ intent to potentially collaborate in the future, with a high-level delegation from MQM-P expected to meet with the PML-N supremo in the coming days.

Dr. Siddiqui disclosed that he has engaged in four conversations with Shehbaz Sharif since Nawaz’s reentry into the political arena, emphasizing a concerted effort to revitalize his party’s prospects.

The forthcoming meeting, anticipated to occur shortly, is poised to address critical issues, including seat adjustments in the upcoming elections. Dr. Siddiqui emphasized the positive working relationship between MQM and PML-N, characterizing the latter as their “last political ally.” Both parties are eager to explore collaboration opportunities and are committed to finding common ground in their political endeavors.
