A powerful wave of western weather systems is set to affect large parts of Pakistan from May 27 to June 1, 2025, bringing widespread rain, thunderstorms, strong winds, and possible hailstorms, according to the Meteorological Department.
In response, the National Emergencies Operation Center (NEOC) of the NDMA has released an impact-based weather alert, warning of possible disruption across multiple regions.

The forecast predicts heavy rainfall and thunderstorms in Islamabad, with similar conditions expected across key areas in Punjab, including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sialkot, and Faisalabad. Southern districts such as Multan, Bahawalpur, and Dera Ghazi Khan may also face moderate rain and strong winds.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, weather disturbances are likely in both upper and lower regions, including Swat, Peshawar, Bannu, and Waziristan, between May 27 and 29. Balochistan is expected to see similar activity in Quetta, Khuzdar, and adjoining areas.

Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir may experience intense weather, with heavy downpours, hail, and the risk of landslides, especially in areas like Skardu, Neelum Valley, and Muzaffarabad.
In contrast, Sindh is likely to remain dry and hot during this period, with no major rainfall anticipated.
The NDMA has advised authorities at all levels to remain on alert and ensure readiness for potential emergencies. Citizens have been urged to avoid unnecessary travel, especially in flood-prone and hilly regions, and to secure property and crops from storm damage.
