The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted rainfall with thunder and strong winds in several regions of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) starting Thursday evening.

Officials from the Met Office indicated that strong, dusty winds are likely to sweep through the plains of Punjab. Light rain may fall in Talagang, Jhelum, and Rawalpindi, while Murree, Galiyat, Attock, and Chakwal could experience isolated thunderstorms, especially in the evening and overnight.

Meanwhile, Islamabad and nearby areas are expected to remain hot during the day, though brief spells of thunderstorm-driven rain may occur at night.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, strong winds are likely in the lower regions. Upper districts such as Chitral, Dir, Swat, and Malakand may receive rain and lightning during nighttime hours. Showers accompanied by thunder are also anticipated in Mansehra, Shangla, Kohistan, and Abbottabad.

The weather department also cautioned about continuing dry and intense heat across most parts of Sindh and Balochistan. Cities including Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Larkana are expected to face high temperatures, with similar conditions prevailing across Balochistan, where temperatures may remain well above the seasonal average.

Authorities have urged the public to take precautions against the heat by staying indoors during the hottest parts of the day and drinking plenty of fluids. Residents in areas facing extreme weather conditions are advised to remain alert and follow any updates from local authorities.
