Karachi continues to face pre-monsoon activity as the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted more light to moderate rainfall in several parts of the city on Monday.

Following a brief break, the sea breeze has resumed, bringing some relief from the persistent heat. On Sunday, scattered showers were reported in various areas, accompanied by thunder and occasional lightning. The weather conditions are expected to stay similar today.

In the last 24 hours, several neighbourhoods saw light rain and drizzle as a result of the ongoing pre-monsoon system. Areas such as Surjani Town, Kathore, Super Highway, and Baldia Town witnessed rainfall ranging from light to heavy intensity, along with cooler winds and cloudy skies that offered some respite to residents.

Despite the rainfall, the overall weather is forecasted to remain hot and humid, with temperatures likely to peak between 37°C to 39°C. Earlier in the morning, the temperature was recorded at 30°C. The PMD also mentioned that due to high humidity levels, which may range from 50% to 80%, the perceived temperature could feel 6 to 9°C higher than the actual reading.
