A British skydiver has recovered his iPhone 13 Pro Max in perfect condition after it plummeted from 14,000 feet during a jump.

Casey Flay, a 37-year-old engineer and wingsuit flyer from Devon, lost the phone mid-air after it slipped from his open front pocket moments after he leapt from the plane. The incident was captured on his helmet-mounted GoPro, showing the phone spinning away into the clouds.

At first, Flay assumed he had left the device on the aircraft. But after landing, he activated Apple’s Find My iPhone feature and was stunned to see its signal coming from a forest nearly four miles from his landing zone.

Following a 30-minute trek through the woods, he found the phone resting on the forest floor—fully intact and still working. In an unexpected twist, a side button that had been jammed for years due to a previous drink spill had somehow begun working again. “Not a single scratch,” Flay reportedly told local media, calling the incident “unbelievable.”

The story has quickly gained traction online, adding to a series of viral accounts showcasing the resilience of Apple’s smartphones under extreme conditions—from deep-water drops to high-impact falls.

While Apple has never claimed its phones are skydiving-proof, this latest episode has certainly sparked conversation about just how tough modern smartphones can be.

For Flay, it wasn’t just about recovering an expensive device—it was about witnessing something genuinely unexpected. “I never thought I’d see that phone again, let alone see it work better than before,” he said.
