Trump Orders Nuclear Tests, Raising Global Concerns

In a surprising announcement, US President Donald Trump has revealed plans to restart nuclear tests, marking a major change in America’s national security policy. The statement, shared on Trump’s social media platform Truth Social, has sparked worldwide discussion and concern.

President Trump wrote, “Because other countries also test their nuclear weapons, I have ordered the United States Department of War to begin testing nuclear weapons on an equal basis.” He added that these tests “will be launched immediately.”

At present, the White House has not released any clarification regarding the announcement. This has left experts uncertain about what exactly the president meant, whether the United States plans to test missiles that can carry nuclear weapons, or to conduct actual nuclear explosions underground or in remote areas.

Nuclear-armed nations such as Russia, China, and North Korea have occasionally tested missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads, but most countries, including the US, have avoided full-scale nuclear tests for decades to prevent environmental and security risks.

If these tests go forward, it would be the first time in over 30 years that the United States conducts one. Global leaders and peace organizations have already begun calling for restraint, warning that this move could increase global tensions and start a new nuclear arms race.
