Punjab has widened the Chief Minister Free WiFi initiative to twenty-three districts, aiming to provide internet access at hundreds of key public locations across the province.
Officials from the Punjab Safe City Authority confirmed that free internet is already functional at four hundred and forty-two points in Lahore, serving millions of residents daily.
More than fifty-eight million users have already consumed over one thousand terabytes of data since the service was launched under the provincial digital connectivity programme.
The expansion brings free WiFi coverage to nine hundred and fifty-two spots in different districts, enhancing accessibility for students, professionals, and general commuters.

Meanwhile, Federal Minister Hanif Abbasi announced that forty Punjab railway stations will soon be equipped with free WiFi under the wider modernisation of Pakistan Railways.
He also confirmed government plans to invest three hundred and fifty billion rupees in upgrading eight railway routes while prioritising the long-discussed ML-1 corridor project.
Abbasi added that the government intends to align railway development with international standards, with focus on efficient governance and the adoption of advanced digital systems.
