Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced the widening of the scope of the Prime Minister Youth Program (PMYP), with more resources allocated to enable the youth to contribute to the development of the country. The program has now included agricultural and other sectors, which will provide opportunities for young people to earn their livelihoods.
In a video message on the occasion of Youth Week, the Prime Minister congratulated the youth and the PML (N) leadership on the completion of ten years of the Youth Program. He mentioned that the program was launched in Punjab back in 2011 and was later expanded to the entire country in 2013 by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. The Prime Minister emphasized that this historic program is proving to be a milestone in the development of the youth.
PM Shehbaz Sharif stated that when he took power last year, the country was facing immense economic problems, which were further compounded by the floods. However, he realized that the youth, who constitute sixty-eight percent of the population, cannot be ignored since they are the future of Pakistan. Therefore, he revived the PM Youth Program to provide opportunities for young people to enhance their education, skills development, and employment prospects. The Prime Minister believes that Pakistan’s progress will depend on the education and skills of its youth, and their ability to contribute to the development of the country.
Shehbaz Sharif announced that the coalition government has declared 2023 as the year of the youth, during which various events will be arranged for them. Furthermore, the government will continue to encourage the youth through other schemes as well. Capable and hardworking students will be provided with laptops to assist them in their studies and enable them to access information technology.
The Prime Minister’s announcement of the widening of the scope of the PMYP and the allocation of more resources to the program is a positive step towards providing opportunities for young people to contribute to the development of Pakistan. The inclusion of the agricultural sector in the program is particularly significant since it will help to boost the country’s agricultural productivity, which is a major source of employment and livelihood for many people.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister’s declaration of 2023 as the year of the youth is a commendable initiative that will provide a platform for young people to showcase their talents and skills. This will help to create a positive image of Pakistan’s youth, both nationally and internationally.
In conclusion, the Prime Minister’s focus on the development of the youth is a positive step towards ensuring Pakistan’s progress and prosperity. By providing opportunities for young people to enhance their education, skills development, and employment prospects, the government is investing in the future of Pakistan. The PMYP and other schemes aimed at encouraging the youth will help to create a generation of young people who are equipped to contribute to the development of the country.
