Pakistan's Unbeaten Qualifiers Run Boosts Player Rankings

Pakistan’s commanding performance in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 Qualifiers has not only earned them a spot in the upcoming tournament but has also propelled several of their players up in the ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings.

The team remained undefeated throughout the tournament, concluding their campaign with a convincing seven-wicket victory over Bangladesh in Lahore. Finishing at the top of the table, Pakistan’s stellar performances have been recognised in the latest ODI rankings, with notable improvements in both batting and bowling categories.

Captain Fatima Sana, who was the team’s top wicket-taker with 12 dismissals, made a significant leap in the rankings, moving up five places to joint 27th in the ODI bowling rankings. Her all-round contribution, including 103 runs in four innings at an average of 34.33, also earned her a 10-place rise to joint 15th in the all-rounders’ rankings.

Sadia Iqbal, the left-arm spinner, took nine wickets during the qualifiers and improved her ranking by five spots, reaching 17th in the ODI bowling list. Meanwhile, Nashra Sandhu also saw a rise, moving up one place to 13th.

In the batting department, Sidra Amin finished as Pakistan’s top scorer with 225 runs in five innings, including three half-centuries. Her remarkable performance helped her climb five places to 18th in the ODI batting rankings. Muneeba Ali also achieved a personal milestone, securing her career-best position at 30th.

Bangladesh, who also qualified for the World Cup, saw several of their players rewarded as well. Nahida Akter, with six wickets in the qualifiers, climbed two places to reach a career-high 10th position in the bowling rankings, while Sharmin Akhter reached 21st.

West Indies’ Hayley Matthews, the top wicket-taker of the event with 13 wickets, held onto her place in the top 10 of the ODI bowling rankings and moved up to fifth in the batting rankings.
