Pakistan’s left-arm fast bowler Usman Shinwari has announced his retirement from international cricket at the age of 30.
Shinwari made his international debut in 2013 with a T20I against Sri Lanka and later played in ODIs and Tests, also against the same opponent. Over six years, he appeared in 34 matches for Pakistan, including 17 ODIs where he took 34 wickets, 16 T20Is with 13 wickets, and a single Test match in December 2019, which turned out to be his last international appearance.

The pacer is remembered for his outstanding five-wicket haul in only his second ODI against Sri Lanka in Sharjah. He repeated the feat in 2019, once again dismantling the Sri Lankan batting lineup.
Shinwari was also part of Pakistan’s squad for the 2018 Asia Cup and will be remembered for his fiery spells and early breakthroughs with the new ball.
Shinwari’s career, though brief at the international level, showed flashes of brilliance that made him a valuable option in Pakistan’s fast-bowling attack. Known for his left-arm pace and ability to swing the ball, he often troubled top-order batters with sharp deliveries. His memorable five-wicket hauls against Sri Lanka remain highlights of his time in green.
