Multan Sultans delivered a powerful performance to defeat Lahore Qalandars by 33 runs in the 12th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10, held at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Tuesday. Despite the convincing win, the hosts remained rooted to the bottom of the standings.

Choosing to bat first, Multan posted a formidable total of 228 for 5. Opener Yasir Khan provided the early momentum with a blistering knock of 87 from 44 deliveries, which included six fours and six towering sixes. His effort was later boosted by Iftikhar Ahmed, who remained unbeaten on 40 from just 18 balls, striking three sixes and three fours during his quickfire cameo.

Lahore Qalandars, in their reply, fell short despite a fighting half-century from seasoned all-rounder Sikandar Raza. They managed to reach 195 for 9 by the end of their 20 overs, never quite catching up to the pace required.

The Sultans’ bowling attack kept the pressure on throughout. Young pacer Ubaid Shah stood out with figures of 3 for 37 in his full quota of overs. Michael Bracewell and Usama Mir contributed with two wickets each, while David Willey and Josh Little chipped in with one apiece.

While the result boosted morale, it didn’t alter Multan’s position in the league table. With just one win from four matches and a net run rate of -1.790, they trail both Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators, who also have two points but better run rates.
