Lahore Qalandars produced a clinical performance to hand Islamabad United a heavy 88-run defeat in the 19th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 at Gaddafi Stadium on Wednesday.
Opting to bat first, Lahore posted an imposing total of 209 for six. Their innings was powered by opener Fakhar Zaman’s quickfire 44 off 30 balls. Sikandar Raza added a valuable 38, while Sam Billings remained unbeaten on 39 to steer the side past the 200-run mark. United’s bowlers struggled to stem the flow of runs, though Imad Wasim and Jason Holder managed to claim two wickets each.
Chasing a tough target of 210, Islamabad’s batting line-up faltered and was dismissed for just 121 in 16.5 overs. Andries Gous top-scored with 41 off 27 balls, while Salman Ali Agha contributed 36. The rest of the batters failed to offer much resistance, and the defending champions slipped to their first loss of the season after five straight victories.
