Pakistan’s veteran tennis player, Talha Waheed, has etched his name in history by securing a place in the Guinness World Records.
He set a new global benchmark by executing 59 successful tennis serves in one minute, surpassing the previous record of 42 set by American John Perry in 2019.
Waheed’s feat makes him the first Pakistani to achieve this world record.
A seasoned international competitor, he has participated in ITF tournaments and reached a career-high ranking of 144 in the 40+ doubles category.
He has also claimed multiple national titles across the 35+, 40+, and 45+ doubles divisions, consistently representing Pakistan on the global stage.
Inspired by Perry’s 2019 record, Waheed dedicated himself to surpassing the milestone.
He underwent three months of intensive training, refining his serving technique to optimize speed and accuracy.
His official attempt took place on November 8, 2024, in Lahore, under the strict guidelines of Guinness World Records.
On March 10, 2025, Guinness officially recognized his achievement, confirming his place among the world’s elite record-holders.
His accomplishment has been widely celebrated in Pakistan’s tennis community, with officials and players praising his dedication.
Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) President Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, along with Secretary General Col Ziauddin Tufail, commended Waheed’s achievement, calling it a proud moment for Pakistan’s sports scene.
