A crucial Pakistan Super League (PSL) encounter between Lahore Qalandars and Quetta Gladiators was abandoned on Thursday due to a combination of dust storm and rain, leaving both sides with a point each.

Lahore, put in to bat first at their home ground, reached 111 for 3 in 11.3 overs before extreme weather brought the match to an unexpected halt. The innings began on a shaky note when Fakhar Zaman was bowled for a duck in the first over by Khurram Shahzad.

However, the hosts quickly bounced back through a strong partnership between Mohammad Naeem and Abdullah Shafique. The pair added 102 runs for the second wicket, with Naeem scoring a quick 50 from 30 balls, hitting three fours and four sixes. Shafique remained unbeaten on 53 from 32 deliveries, including three boundaries and three sixes.

Abrar Ahmed broke the partnership in the 10th over by removing Naeem, and returned in the next over to dismiss Daryl Mitchell for just three runs. Moments later, a sudden dust storm forced players off the field and sent spectators scrambling for cover. A light drizzle followed, making it impossible to resume play.

With the game abandoned, both Lahore Qalandars and Quetta Gladiators moved to nine points each, staying in second and third place on the points table respectively.
