Siddiqullah captured the bantamweight title at the Pakistan MMA Open after defeating Asghar Khan in a thrilling final, earning his spot at the upcoming IMMAF World Championships in Georgia.

The event, held at DHA Phase 6 Sports Complex as part of Pakistan Combat Night 2025, featured amateur fighters from across the country. Siddiq edged out Asghar on a split decision, with two judges scoring in his favor (30-27, 29-28) while one ruled for Asghar (29-27).

Although Asghar started strong in the opening round, Siddiq quickly turned the fight around, dominating the final two rounds to secure the gold medal. “I had to drop weight for this fight, and Asghar really pushed back early, but I pulled my act together and stayed in control,” Siddiq said after his win.

The Islamabad-based fighter began his campaign by defeating Essa Khan in the quarterfinals before overcoming Samiullah in the semifinals. Asghar reached the final after beating Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Ihsanullah, following a bye in the quarterfinals.

Siddiq now turns his focus to the IMMAF World Championships, scheduled later this year in Georgia. “I will be training very hard now, as we have around a month to prepare,” he said.

Organizers said the tournament not only provides fighters with valuable exposure but also medical support, which many athletes struggle to access. “The fighters are thankful for the medical treatment and the chance to showcase their talent. It’s an important step in highlighting Pakistan’s MMA potential,” said event partner Waleed Amjad of ACTIVT.
