Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has written his name into English football history after being voted the PFA Men’s Player of the Year for a record third time.

The 33-year-old Egyptian enjoyed another standout campaign, hitting 29 goals and registering 18 assists as Liverpool claimed their first Premier League crown since 2020, matching Manchester United’s tally of 20 league titles. His earlier PFA wins came in the 2017/18 and 2021/22 seasons.

Salah’s outstanding year was further recognised with the Football Writers’ Association and Premier League Player of the Year awards. His influence was also reflected in the PFA Team of the Year, which included four Liverpool players — Virgil van Dijk, Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch and new signing Milos Kerkez. Arsenal matched that tally, with William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes and Declan Rice named among the league’s best.

Elsewhere, Nottingham Forest’s Matz Sels and Chris Wood were rewarded for their contributions, while Newcastle striker Alexander Isak earned a spot after finishing runner-up in the Golden Boot race.

Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers was chosen as Young Player of the Year following his breakthrough into the England side. In the women’s category, Arsenal’s Spanish midfielder Mariona Caldentey was honoured after firing her side to Champions League glory with 19 goals. Canadian forward Olivia Smith, who recently completed a record-breaking transfer to Arsenal, won the women’s young player award.
