Islamabad United’s captain, Shadab Khan, achieved a significant milestone in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) on Wednesday, becoming the first spinner in the league’s history to take 100 wickets. The landmark was reached during United’s victory over Multan Sultans at Multan Cricket Stadium.
In his 89th PSL match, Shadab dismissed Multan Sultans’ Mohammad Rizwan, cementing his place as the fourth bowler overall to reach the 100-wicket mark in PSL history. He is the first spinner to achieve this feat, joining an elite group of bowlers that includes fast bowlers Hasan Ali, Wahab Riaz, and Shaheen Shah Afridi.
The 25-year-old leg-spinner now stands among the league’s top wicket-takers, trailing behind Hasan Ali, who leads with 118 wickets, followed by Wahab Riaz with 113, and Shaheen Shah Afridi with 109. Shadab’s 100 wickets in 89 matches places him in a strong position, ahead of his teammate Faheem Ashraf, who has taken 79 wickets in 73 innings.

The win secured Islamabad United’s fifth consecutive victory in PSL X, keeping them firmly at the top of the points table.
