The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is witnessing a surge in interest from investors, with both local and international parties keen on acquiring new franchises.
According to PSL CEO Salman Naseer, individuals from Pakistan and the United States have shown enthusiasm in becoming part of the league, underlining its expanding global appeal.
Speaking to Cricket Pakistan, Naseer said that while discussions around expansion are ongoing, key decisions will be made after the current season.
Data is still being gathered, and franchise valuations are yet to be completed.

He noted that it is too early to speculate on the potential price of new teams but confirmed that financial models would be evaluated once the necessary groundwork is done.
Addressing the financial health of the league, Naseer said revenues have consistently grown, especially through the sale of broadcast and sponsorship rights, which are shared among the teams.
While he refrained from commenting on the financial status of Multan Sultans, he believed most franchises are likely turning a profit.
Naseer also acknowledged the growing interest in hosting PSL matches overseas.

During a recent visit to the United States with PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, he met individuals who expressed genuine interest in the league. He described it as encouraging to see PSL gaining recognition beyond Pakistan.
On the possibility of a clash between PSL and IPL champions, Naseer said the idea hasn’t been explored yet, partly due to a packed cricket calendar.
He explained that the 2025 PSL had to shift to a different window because of the Champions Trophy, leading to an overlap with the IPL.
As the league prepares for its landmark 10th season, plans are in motion for a 40-day tournament featuring 34 matches, a trophy tour, and musical collaborations—all aimed at celebrating a decade of PSL’s journey.
