Peshawar Zalmi has signed Australian all-rounder Mitchell Owen as a Supplementary draft pick for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10, following a controversial contract breach by South African Corbin Bosch.
Owen, who gained widespread recognition for his explosive performances in the Big Bash League (BBL), will join the Zalmi squad ahead of the tournament starting on April 11.
The 23-year-old had an outstanding BBL campaign with the Hobart Hurricanes, leading them to their first-ever title.
Owen made a lasting impression in the final, scoring a joint-fastest century against the Sydney Thunder.
Zalmi’s decision to sign Owen comes after Bosch, who had been selected in the Diamond category during the PSL 10 draft, withdrew from the squad.
Bosch reportedly breached his contract with Zalmi to join the Mumbai Indians for the Indian Premier League (IPL), where he is set to replace injured pacer Lizaad Williams.
In response, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) issued a legal notice to Bosch, detailing the consequences of his actions.
Although Owen had not been picked during the PSL 2025 draft, Zalmi moved swiftly to secure him, bolstering their squad with his dynamic skills.
His addition is expected to bring fresh energy and depth to Zalmi’s lineup as they aim for success in the upcoming PSL season.
