The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has denied media reports suggesting changes in the national team’s leadership, dismissing them as “baseless and unfounded.”
In a statement, the board clarified that there is no truth to claims about Salman Ali Agha being considered as the new ODI captain in place of Mohammad Rizwan, or Saud Shakeel being appointed as Test captain to replace Shan Masood.

The PCB added that the selection committee has not discussed any such changes and that no player’s central contract category has been altered.
Speculation about a leadership shake-up emerged earlier, with some reports claiming that consultations had taken place at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore. Rumors suggested Salman Agha was being tipped for the ODI role, while Saud Shakeel was a strong contender for the Test captaincy.
