The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has imposed fines totaling Rs 3 million on eight national cricketers for breaching the code of conduct since the home Test series against England.
Aamir Jamal received the highest fine, approximately PKR 1.3 million, after wearing a cap with a political slogan during an interview in October 2024, during the first Test of Pakistan’s three-match series against England.
In addition to Jamal’s fine, three other cricketers were penalized PKR 500,000 each for arriving late to the team hotel during Pakistan’s white-ball tour to Australia in November 2024.
Sources suggest that this violation led to the penalties, though further details have not been disclosed.
During Pakistan’s subsequent tour to South Africa, four players—Salman Ali Agha, Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafique, and Abbas Afridi—were fined for breaching curfew rules.
The PCB, which has kept disciplinary matters private to protect player reputations, did not publicly disclose the full details of the fines.
This disciplinary action comes amid heavy scrutiny of the national cricket team, following their disappointing early exit from the 2025 ICC Men’s Champions Trophy.
Pakistan, the defending champions, failed to secure a victory in the tournament, losing their first two matches to New Zealand and India, and seeing their last group match against Bangladesh washed out.
