Pakistan’s batting collapsed early in their Asia Cup 2025 clash against India at the Dubai International Stadium. After choosing to bat first, Pakistan lost four wickets inside the first 10 overs and was struggling to put runs on the board.

Saim Ayub was out on the very first ball of the match, caught at point off Jasprit Bumrah for his second golden duck in the tournament. Soon after, Haris, who had shined in the previous game against Oman, also fell cheaply for just 3 runs.

Fakhar Zaman and Sahibzada Farhan added 39 runs together, but Zaman’s dismissal to Axar Patel triggered more trouble. Captain Salman Agha also failed to settle, falling soon after with the team at 49 for 4.

Kuldeep Yadav made matters worse for Pakistan by taking two wickets in consecutive balls, dismissing Hasan Nawaz and Mohammad Nawaz. Farhan tried to fight back with 40 runs off 44 balls, but his dismissal left Pakistan reeling as they struggled to cross the 100 mark.

Both teams had kept their winning XIs unchanged from their previous matches. India came in after a nine wicket win over the UAE, while Pakistan had beaten Oman by 93 runs. This match is the first meeting between the arch rivals since February and their first Asia Cup contest since 2023, when India won by 228 runs.

The clash is being played under heavy security due to recent political tensions between the two countries. Dubai Police have implemented strict entry rules and urged fans to cooperate, warning that violations may lead to penalties.

The stadium is expected to be full as fans from both nations have turned out for one of cricket’s biggest rivalries.
